January 9-11, 2020: Faith, Politics, and the Common Good - Voter's Summit and Presidential Forum
Held in Des Moines, IA in anticipation of the first primary, the Summit and Forum offers world-class training for Citizens, Faith Leaders, Community Organizers and Activists, and Political Candidates on engaging in civic life, and the Common Good. During the evenings Presidential, Senate, Congressional, and State candidates will share their perspectives on the intersection of faith, politics, and the common good.
September 21st @ 1:30-3:30 pm: University of St. Thomas
On Sept. 21st, the University of St. Thomas will be hosting an all day symposium on the Church and race entitled “Open Wide Our Hearts.” I will be interviewed by Larry Payne followed by a breakout lecture. On Sept. 12th, The Texas Christian Community Development Network will host their annual “No Need Among You” conference. DZ Cofield and I will discuss the book as well as the challenges that face us as we seek to navigate our nation’s crisis at the intersection of race, religion and politics.
April 4th @ 7:00 PM: Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church
On the anniversary of MLK’s assignation, DZ Cofield & Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church will host a conversation on America’s Unholy Ghosts: The Racist Roots of Our Faith and Politics to discuss the roots of America’s racial crisis and the work of continuing Dr. King’s struggle for the Beloved Community.
